The Battle for Freedom – President’s Message May 2019

Jim Carter

Currently 22 Socialist Democrats are running for President. Yes, they all support Socialism to various degrees. They have four (4) major Themes:

  1.  They all despise Trump because he wants people to be independent and not dependent on government. Government’s purpose is to serve the people not the other way around. He wants workable trade policies, other countries to be responsible for paying a fair share for there own defense and domestic policies that put Americans first . Promises made, Promises kept.
  2. They are champion whiners and keep blaming everybody else for not doing better in the polls. For example Senator Gillinbrand from New York complains of sexism and being a working mom. The truth is her campaign was over before it started.
  3. They just can’t stop apologizing when confronted by someone on the campaign trail. They are spineless. Always down grading America. We know it all started with Obama and his world tour of apologizing for America as the cause of most of the world’s problems. We aren’t responsible for all that is wrong in this World. We have done more than any other country to try an make this world a better place. These self effacing candidates operate out of the same play book. Making statements like America has never been that great or women and minority’s are not doing well in this economy. The elderly will suffer if we do Social security reform. It’s the same mantra, the same playbook, just more of them embracing Socialism as the answer.
  4. They want to take away your individual FREEDOM. All of these candidates want to take something from you:
    1. Healthcare. Not one of them wants you to have the options to chose your own plan or be responsibility or accountable for your own Heath care.
    2. Education. No one has to pay for a college education. Really! That means the money comes out of your pocket.
    3. Free Speech. No way. These people want controlled speech. Look at the press, universities, etc. think like we want you to think.

These are just three examples.

These people all consider themselves elitists. You are not smart enough to make your own decisions. You shouldn’t be thinking for yourself. Only, they are capable of running your lives. They will attack your core beliefs- Faith, Family , independence, freedom of choice, the right to protect yourself or family( the Second amendment ) pride in being an American. Yes you are deplorable’s .

Lastly, not one of them wants to protect our Boarders or have immigration reform. They want open Borders. To them it’s all about power to control your life.

President’s Message – April 2019

Jim Carter

Ilhan Omar was born in war torn Somali and because her family was of at least middle class and educated, fled to Kenya and grew up in a Muslim refuge camp.

It’s reported a Christian church in this country sponsored her and her family so they could come to the United States as refugees. Note it was CHRISTIANS that gave them an opportunity for freedom not a Muslim group. The family was settled in Northern Virginia.

Well, Omar says, in school she was treated badly and teased about her dress. I expect that is true as kids can be cruel and insensitive. Is this now a reason to hate America and expect her own prejudices to be acceptable? She says” American is so racist and hateful. I feel threaten, demonized and vilified” it’s difficult for me even to go to work.”

That is hard to believe. When you make outrageous statements like she did about 9/11 “ some people did something” and expect no negative reaction, you have to be delusional. One of the most tragic days in American history and she belittles it.

This woman CHOSE to be a politician. She is open season on anyone who chooses to disagree with her. It’s not racist or white supremacy. It’s called FREE SPEACH.

Her anti Semitic comments and attacks on our support of Israel are disgusting. It’s tragic Speaker Pelosi doesn’t have the guts to remove her from ALL committees.

Maybe, then her district will think twice about electing a hateful, narrow minded person who has no business in the US Congress. Even, more tragic, the most generous country in the World saved her life and has given every opportunity to succeed, which she has. Instead of being thankful she attacks as racist and hateful. How does she get a way with it? Well the Socialist Democratic Party says the same things.

Is the Democrat Party Imploding?

Jim Carter

Is the Democratic Party imploding? I think not. They have shifted far to the left and the struggle for leadership and direction is driven by the party’s Socialist. Some are extreme.

Let’s break this down. Newly elected Representatives Ilan Omar (Minnesota) and Rashida Tlaib( Michigan) are openly anti semantics. They and a number of their fellow travelers will do all the can to destroy our positive relationship with Israel .

Omar on The Foreign Relations Committee has been rebuked by Speaker Pelosi and other Democrats. A classic appeasement move. Also, Tlaib can be a problem because for her past. She was elected to three terms in the Michigan House and didn’t even live in the District she represented. She lied about her address. This verified by her own father. On the last day of qualifying for the U.S. House, she established an address in the District. Like Omar she is a member of the Socialist Party. Both support the more radical Muslim positions in the U.S.

Then we have Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The sweetheart of the left. Born in the Bronx, grew up in Yorktown Heights , an upper middle class neighborhood, (next to Westchester New York). A graduate of Boston University. You’ll love this, she majored in Economics. Wow, a classic example of a failed education system. She interned in Senator Ted Kennedy’s office. Yes, now you see she has been programmed for a long time.

AOC, 29 has no record of employment other than a waitress and a bartender in a Mexican Restaurant in the Bronx. Spent most other time as a community organizer. That has a familiar ring. Traveled to a number of protests. Flint Michigan water crisis (government entities all run by Democrats) and to Standing Rock, North Dakota to protest the pipe line. I wonder who paid the bills?

This genius introduced the New Green Deal. All the Democratic / Socialist candidates embraced this like it was the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Wait, Senator McConnell wans the Senate to vote on it. Oh, like rats running for cover, the all are trying to quote “rephrase” their positions.

America is on the bubble. A Socialist is Socialist no matter how you try to change the meaning. This is our Waterloo. 2020 is our day of reckoning.

Here A Justice, There A Justice, Everywhere A Conservative New Judge

By Connie Ross

The ideology of the Florida State Supreme Court has recently been dramatically reshaped for the next generation.  As promised, Governor Ron DeSantis replaced three state Supreme Court Justices who retired by mandate on January 8th with conservative judges who respect the rule of law and believe the Constitution is supreme, thus putting an end to “judicial activism” on the court.  Justice Barbara Lagoa, Justice Robert J. Luck and Justice Carlos G. Muñiz were selected from a list of finalists among 59 applicants submitted by the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission.  Nine of the eleven final nominees were members the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group who believe, “it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.”  Luck is not a Federalist Society member, but did indicate he was a moderator for a February 2018 Federalist Society conference in Florida.

The Florida Supreme Court is composed of seven Justices.  At least five Justices are required to participate in every case, and no less than four must concur to reach a decision.  Historically judges were chosen by direct election of the people, which created ethical issues when candidates needed to raise campaign money that was often donated by the same attorneys who practiced before the Court.  After several Florida appellate judges were charged with violations of ethics, an evolved “merit retention” system was instituted in the mid-70s to seat Florida Justices.  Today when there is a vacancy on the Court, the Governor chooses the next Justice from a list of three to six individuals recommended by a Judicial Nominating Commission.  When Justices’ terms expire, their name is placed on the general election ballot for a merit retention vote if they wish to remain in office.  The ballot question asks: “Shall Justice _____ be retained in office?” The three newly appointed Justices face a merit retention vote in 2020.

Based on the Constitutional separation of powers and the proper role of the courts, judges do not make policy, they simply interpret the law.  Laws, however, do not spell out how they should be applied in every conceivable case, which has resulted in Federal Judges who appear to act like Democratic politicians and create legislation from the bench.  President Trump has been working diligently to resolve this crisis in the federal courts.

As of January 23, 2019, the United States Senate confirmed 85 Article III judges nominated by President Trump, including Associate Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court of the United States, 30 judges to the United States Court of Appeals and 53 judges to United States District Courts.  There are currently 54 nominations to Article III courts awaiting Senate action, including 9 for the Courts of Appeals, 43 for the District Courts, and 2 for the Court of International Trade.  Additionally, the Senate confirmed 7 Judges in Article I courts; there are currently 3 nominations to Article I courts awaiting Senate action.

Like other judges, the United States Supreme Court Justices preside over civil and criminal court cases with the goal of upholding, enforcing, and interpreting the law, however they uniquely interpret and defend the grandest law in the land: the U.S. Constitution.  The Constitution gives it the power to check, if necessary, the actions of the President and Congress.  The Supreme Court functions as a last resort tribunal and its rulings cannot be appealed except by a subsequent decision of the Supreme Court of the United States.  With the magnitude of the duties of the Supreme Court I find myself wondering… where is Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg?

Congressman Rooney leads Florida Delegation letter to White House for Everglades Funding

Letter is signed by all 27 House members from Florida

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Francis Rooney sent a letter to President Trump, co-signed by every Member of the Florida Congressional delegation, encouraging the Administration’s continued support of Everglades restoration and water quality infrastructure projects.

Congressman Rooney stated, “The single biggest issue impacting our Southwest Florida community is water quality. Our economy is forever tied to our ecology, and clean water flowing through our rivers, streams and estuaries is the lifeblood of that ecology. We are thankful for the record level of funding that was allocated last year for both the Herbert Hoover Dike and Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan projects – a total of over $1 billion. It is critical that we maintain these funding levels so that we may more quickly complete the projects necessary to fix our water.

“The fact that all of our delegation, Republican and Democrat, is united in this cause, is proof of the Everglades’ importance to the future of our State.”

Background:

Joined with $206 million previously appropriated by the House, a total of $610 million will be set aside to complete the Herbert Hoover Dike repairs by 2022 instead of the end of the decade. Every year saved completing these repairs is a year that harmful releases into our ecosystem will stop sooner. Congressman Rooney has successfully fought for funding to complete CERP projects, united the Florida delegation and personally brought House leadership to Southwest Florida to see the watershed first hand. These efforts have led to a record $115 million set aside for CERP in the FY2019 budget. In total, nearly $1.1 billion has been appropriated for dike repairs and CERP projects in FY 2018 and FY 2019.
