The Right Men’s Club

Thank you for your honest feedback to help us decide whether our current 7:30 a.m. breakfast format is still the best fit, or whether a luncheon or dinner meeting would better meet the needs of our members (even if costs rise). We also welcomef your thoughts on future projects and the types of speakers you would like to hear.

All responses were anonymous and have been be reviewed by the leadership team.

The form only allowed one entry per address.

Key Takeaways

  • Breakfast format remains preferred by a clear majority (52% want to keep 7:30 a.m. breakfast; only 28%
want a switch to lunch or dinner).
  • Convenience is mixed but leans positive: 60% find the current time very or somewhat convenient; 24% find it
    inconvenient.
  • Strong willingness to pay more if format changes: 48% are somewhat or very willing to pay a higher price;
    only 4% are unwilling.
  • Speaker mix is popular: 80% want to keep the current mix of speakers. A small minority prefer more
political/civic leaders or community service focus.
  • Comments are overwhelmingly positive about the club’s leadership and current programming, with a few
    practical improvement ideas.

Convenience of Current 7:30 a.m. Meeting Time
The early breakfast time works well for most members, especially those who value getting to work afterward.
However, nearly one in four respondents find it somewhat or very inconvenient, suggesting that any format change
should carefully balance the needs of working members against those who prefer later times.

Preferred Meeting Format
A solid majority prefer to keep the current breakfast format. Interest in switching is concentrated on luncheons rather
than dinners. A meaningful minority (20%) are flexible or have no strong preference, which could support occasional
special events at different times without changing the core monthly format.

Willingness to Pay Higher Price for Lunch/Dinner
If the club were to move to a higher-cost luncheon or dinner format, nearly half of respondents would be willing to
pay more. Six members explicitly prefer keeping breakfast (and thus marked N/A). Only one respondent indicated
unwillingness. This suggests price sensitivity is moderate and that a carefully priced alternative format could be
viable for some events.

Speaker Mix & Community Initiatives
There is strong consensus to maintain the current variety of speakers. Only a handful of members requested more
political/civic leaders, historical/cultural content, or a greater emphasis on community service projects. One open
comment specifically asked for more community service activities (“Serve a purpose!”).

Themes from Open Comments

Most free-text responses expressed appreciation for the club and its leadership. Practical suggestions included:

  • Better speaker identification (name signs or clear introductions) so the audience knows who is speaking.
  • More happy hours / social events with improved appetizer options (willingness to pay admission noted).
  • Continue (or increase) cheap food at quarterly socials.
  • Promote the next meeting at check-in and begin promoting the Winter luncheon earlier.
  • Avoid motivational speakers; current mix is preferred for this demographic.
  • Consider thinking “outside the box” if growth is a goal.
  • More community service / purposeful projects.

Overall tone is highly supportive: multiple comments such as “You and your team do an outstanding job,” “Keep up
the good work,” and “Thanks for a great organization.”

Recommended Next Steps

  1. Retain the core 7:30 a.m. breakfast format for regular meetings — it has clear majority support and works for working members.
  2. Consider occasional luncheons (e.g., quarterly or special events) given the interest from ~24% and the willingness of many to pay more.
  3. Keep the current speaker mix; add clearer speaker identification at every meeting.
  4. Explore more social/happy-hour events and modest improvements to food options at socials.
  5. Promote upcoming meetings at check-in and begin early promotion of any Winter luncheon.
