Breakfast Meeting – Bob Rommel

Join Us for breakfast Friday, June 6th, at the Hilton Hotel to hear from The Honorable Bob Rommel, a respected conservative leader and former Florida state representative, is serving as executive director of the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) Florida State Chapter.

Rommel is a champion of limited government, fiscal responsibility, and individual liberties who spearheaded key legislative initiatives while in the legislature, including tax cuts, regulatory reform, and education empowerment.

“Bob is a proven leader who has advanced policies promoting freedom, opportunity, and prosperity,” said Erika Donalds, chair of the AFPI Florida State Chapter. “His extensive experience in both the private sector and public service makes him uniquely qualified to lead AFPI’s efforts in Florida. I have no doubt that under his leadership, the Florida chapter will effectively champion the values that make our state a beacon for the America First movement.”

Bob Rommel Bio:

Born and raised in Keyport, New Jersey, Bob Rommel is the product of hard-working parents in a small town, where most families struggled just to survive. His parents focused on hard work and respect for others, Bob learned valuable life lessons that helped lead him to a very successful life.

Bob has a very diverse business background. His professional life started in the automobile business as a salesperson. Bob was quickly promoted to finance manager and then a short time later to general manager of one the largest automobile dealerships is the northeast. After eight successful years with the same organization Bob knew it was time to start his own business.

After careful consideration and research Bob decided to start a mortgage company. Building a new company from the ground up was exciting. The foundation of the company started with three employees, $50,000 and a small office. The company achieved success rapidly, expanding to 5 states and over 110 employees and after 5 years I sold the company.

After selling his mortgage company Bob decided to get into the restaurant business. Bob operated 4 restaurants in Florida and New Jersey.

An unabashed Republican, Bob is currently a member of the Republican Club of South Collier County, the Collier County Republican Executive Committee, the Republican Men’s Club of Collier and the Naples Republican Club.

Bob is also a Fellow of The Club for Growth which is a natural network of over 250,000 pro-growth, limited government Americans, who share in the belief that prosperity and opportunity come from economic freedom. In 2019, Bob was the recipient of the Florida Chamber of Commerce Legislator of the Year award. In 2020, Grover Norquist appointed Bob to chair Florida’s division of Americans for Tax Reform.  In 2022, Bob was appointed to the Board of Directors of Enterprise Florida . He also serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA in Marco Island. Bob is also a policy advisor with the Heartland Institute.

From 2016 -2024 Bob served in the Florida House of Representatives.  Bob served as the Chair of the Commerce Committee , Civil Justice and Regulatory Reform.

Bob is currently the Executive Director of America First Policy Institute.
